Serious Illness Conversation (SIC) Training

 

Purpose - Train learners in knowledge and skill needed to use SIC Guide to lead high quality value and goal conversations with individuals dealing with serious illness

 

Agenda- Three-hour total

 

10 min.-Opening reflection     

10 min- Discuss Evidence-Based Benefits of SIC

20 min-Demonstration and Debriefing

15 min-Serious Illness Guide Review

20 min-Drill and Debrief

10 min-Break

85 min- Practice Using the Guide in Small Groups

            15 min- Small Group Start-Up                                                                                                            60 min-Practice Using SIC Guide                                                                                                 10 min-Small Group Debrief

10 min-Large Group Debrief and Close
