This module will introduce basic research designs available that may suit the question to be investigated. Once investigated, a brief journey through how to get your work published is presented to align with the push for UPMC to publish its work as a top academic facility in the United States.

Participants will be able to discuss the importance of research and list five characteristics of a good research question, construct an effective research question, differentiate experimental and quasi-experimental design types, state when an observational design would be useful, and formulate a publication plan.
