Module 3: Preceptor Roles and Responsibilities
Preceptors of today’s student pharmacists are both new and experienced practitioners, working in clinics, hospitals, specialty sites, and/or community pharmacies. It is critical that the keep abreast of standards and guidelines for experiential learning from accreditation bodies, as well as gain knowledge and understanding of our University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy experiential learning curriculum. This module is part of a series of video lectures for preceptors to gain knowledge and skills related to the PittPharmacy program, accreditation standards, precepting resources, and strategies for success.

In support of improving patient care, the University of Pittsburgh is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
This knowledge-based activity provides 0.5 contact hours of continuing pharmacy education credit.
Other health care professionals will receive a certificate of attendance confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.

As required by the ACPE, credits for will be uploaded to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) within 60 days of completion.
