Online Learning Component for the 2025 Update in Internal Medicine
We are pleased to present the second-year offering of our online training modules, developed to complement the University of Pittsburgh Department of Medicine’s 2025 Update in Internal Medicine (UIM): Practice Changing Advances course, held virtually on October 23–24, 2025.
These self-paced modules bring the expertise of nationally recognized faculty directly to you—offering timely, evidence-based updates that reflect the evolving landscape of internal medicine. Through engaging, expert-led content, you’ll explore care management pathways for common conditions encountered in primary care, including dyspnea, prostate cancer, depression, chronic kidney disease, dementia, hypersomnia, obesity, and dermatologic challenges.
You’ll also gain practical insights into managing complex clinical scenarios such as cerebrovascular disease, gastrointestinal motility disorders, atrial arrhythmias, and acute pain in hospitalized patients with substance use disorders. The modules synthesize the latest scientific evidence to support effective interventions in smoking cessation, antibody screening in rheumatic disorders, and more.
In addition, the course examines the broader impact of emerging therapies and public health trends—analyzing the use of newer anticoagulation agents, medical marijuana, preventive cardiology strategies, medication safety in older adults, home antibiotic management, travel medicine, and the implications of sharing genetic data for analysis.
Access to the materials will be available through May 30, 2026.
