ForwardEnhancing Teaching Skills for Medical Educators (Online): Curriculum Development in Medical Education
“Curriculum Development in Medical Education” is a learning module created for medical educators as part of the “Enhancing Teaching Skills Lunchtime Webinar Series.” The goal of this series is to enhance core teaching and scholarship skills for medical educators of both medical students and residents throughout the UPMC system. The webinar series occurs live through Microsoft Teams from 12:00-1:00PM every other month during the academic year. Target Audience
Medical educators of both medical students and residents.

- Name the 6 steps of curriculum development
- Describe methods for a targeted needs assessment
- Describe the difference between goals and objectives
- Brainstorm teaching methods for specific types of educational objectives
- List the 4 types of resources needed for curriculum implementation
- Describe how curriculum evaluation may drive curricular reform
