APP Academy UPMC Passavant Advanced Practice Provider Council Presents: APP Academy
This course is intended for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists clinically practicing in both inpatient and outpatient medicine. This two-day, multidisciplinary interactive event aims to educate APPs on up-to-date treatments and best practice guidelines for a variety of topics, as well as improve interdisciplinary relationships between APPs across local hospitals in order to better serve their patients. The course will aim to enhance both clinical and procedural skills by offering a combination of didactic lectures, hands-on workshops, and interactive panel discussions.
Target Audience
Intended for Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurse Midwives, and CRNAs clinically practicing in both inpatient and outpatient medicine.
Learning Objectives
• Expand clinical knowledge and technical skills for the most common diagnoses that result in patient hospitalization.
• Engage in professional development through networking opportunities and effective communication
• Opportunity for direct demonstration, personalized instruction, and extensive hands-on practice in fundamental skills for the APP through full day of simulation labs.
• Interdisciplinary, real-time, problem-based learning case study, which will improve abilities to work through differential diagnoses and form work-up and treatment plans.
