Infectious disease lecture for PICU Nurses

This course was designed to provide clinical knowledge on certain antibiotics used for specific types of infections. The goal of this lecture is to increase the knowledge gap between ordering providers and bedside nurses in the pediatric intensive care unit.

After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:

  • identify certain organisms and why antibiotics are ordered. 
  • recall information from this lecture series to better understand antibiotic resistance organisms, and how to differentiate between what antibiotics should be ordered.
