  • Identify common congenital and acquired heart disease that would require a ventricular assist device
  • Identify ventricular assist devices commonly used at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
  • Understand the functionality and purpose of ventricular assist devices commonly used at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh
  • Apply basic practices of nursing care related to ventricular assist device dressing changes
