Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Discuss program-specific measures and result determination for Highmark, UnitedHealthcare, and  UPMC Health Plan programs
• Identify three areas of improvement from Highmark and UnitedHealthcare program outcomes
• List the three state programs for quality and public reporting
• Discuss HQIP and HealthChoices
• Discuss how PHC4 addresses rapidly- growing health care costs
• Discuss how HAP is improving health for Pennsylvania communities
• Discuss The Joint Commission quality reporting requirements
• Interpret Leapfrog Hospital Surveys and Hospital Safety Grades
• Discuss the U.S. News & World Report process and outcomes
• Interpret results of federal quality and reporting programs
• Utilize outcome measures to determine focal points for improvement efforts
• Discuss how adjustment factors affect reimbursement
• Identify QI resources within UPMC
• Determine if your project is QI or research and successfully navigate the QI online application
• Utilize REDCap, UPMC’s preferred QI data system for QI projects
