This course was designed because nurses who take this review course will be better prepared to sit for the CPHON exam certification. Having certified nurses on the unit will provide more resources to the staff who perform direct care and encourage those certified nurses to educate their peers on the content learned in the course.

After completing this course, the learner will be able to:
- Identify the most common pediatric malignancies.
- State characteristics of common solid tumors in children
- Identify common symptoms of brain tumors.
- State characteristics of neuroblastoma tumors in children
- Verbalize implications for the transition to end of life care
- Describe important principles of pharmacokinetics in chemotherapy administration
- Verbalize the impact of research on the survival of children with cancer
- Identify the side effects associated with radiation therapy, as they relate to radiation field and age of child undergoing radiation.
- Describe the differences between autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT), and the potential complications associated with each modality.
