1. Review the history of the patient safety movement

2. Identify the core safety principles

3. List two pieces of legislation impacting safety

4. Apply the broader framework of quality improvement to the daily work of a Behavioral Health MCO, Community Care to enhance safety and quality

5. Identify tools and processes used by Community Care to determine and address quality of care issues for providers

6. Understand their role as physician PAs in quality improvement activities, demonstrate enhanced skills in the SMI process including review, investigation and follow up and recognize the value of teamwork and collaboration with Quality Management Department.
