Staff caring for patients living with dementia have difficulties with managing some of the challenging behaviors that may present with this disease. There are deficits in knowledge about types of dementias and its effects on the brain/ brain pathophysiology. Techniques taught in this class have been shown to decrease agitation and upset in patients living with dementia, thus improving the environment of care for our patients.
