This course will prepare nurses for the charge nurse role.

Target Audience

RN

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to:

  1. Describe the process to print downtime forms,
  2. Describe the process for crash cart maintenance
  3. Demonstrate the ability to utilize Shift Select to plan staffing for the unit.
  4. Have a better understanding of patient safety reporting and identify  a “good catch"
  5. Be able to recognize and verbalize the process of testing staff for fitness for duty.
