Learning Objectives

a. Identify the factors that affect prognosis with hip fracture repair versus nonoperative management.

b. Review outcomes of hip fracture repair and subsequent recovery of surgery in an older adult with dementia.

c. Evaluate clinical decision support tools for surgical intervention in older adults with dementia.

d. Develop talking points to help families weigh information regarding potential outcomes of surgery in older adults with dementia.
