Asthma Guideline Updates for Care Management
This program will provide key updates to the 2024 Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) clinical guideline, including asthma phenotypes, definitions of severity, goals of asthma therapy, and recommended pharmacotherapy. It will also include a description of Health Plan resources available to assist members with chronic conditions, including asthma.

Learning Objectives
Describe the goals of therapy for asthma.
Recognize the definitions, descriptions, and clinical usefulness of asthma severity.
Understand the clinical benefits of SMART therapy (Single Maintenance and Reliever Therapy) for Steps 1 & 2 of asthma management.
1-120pm Review of the goals of therapy for asthma.
120-140 pm Overview of the definitions, descriptions, and clinical usefulness of asthma severity.
140 to 2pm Review of the clinical benefits of SMART therapy (Single Maintenance and Reliever Therapy) for Steps 1 & 2 of asthma management.

This activity is eligible for endorsed credit for UPMC Health Plan EMTs and Paramedics. Complete ETHOS course work, obtain the attendance certificate, and submit to EMS governing body for 1.0 CE credit(s).
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, University of Pittsburgh is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Other health care professionals will receive a certificate of attendance confirming the number of contact hours commensurate with the extent of participation in this activity.
