Perioperative Nursing Conference 2025
Annual Periop Nursing Conference that will be virtual from 8a-12p. The 4 topics of discussion have been identified by staff members as areas in which they would like additional education/information. Topics include, language barriers, pain blocks along with family discharge education, post-operative delirium, and surgical complications.

Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, the learner will be able to:
- Explain how pre-operative preparation and patient/family education can reduce the risk of delirium and alleviate distress
- List 2 common treatments for post-operative delirium.
- List two evidence-based strategies that can be implemented during the perioperative period to reduce surgical complications in patients undergoing epilepsy-related.
- Compare and contrast at least two types of neurosensory or muscular blocks used for post-operative pain management.
- Identify three resources available to support communication with patients and families who are not English-speaking.
