Abstract: The Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) training " CBT in Action," will provide CBT training for clinicians aimed at concretizing CBT theory into actionable strategies to better serve clients. The training session will look at the importance of psychoeducational groups, the genesis of CBT (stoicism), and critical thinking skills. Other themes explored in the training include CBT connections between serotonin and self-esteem as well as CBT tools extrapolated from the book "The Six Pillars of Self-Esteem" by Nathaniel Branden, considered the "father of self-esteem."  Additionally, CBT and the power of critical thinking will be discussed.  Lastly, ideas/tools from the book "Thinking Fast and Slow" by the Nobel Prize recipient Daniel Kahneman will be presented. Woven throughout the training,  you'll find Trauma Informed Care themes and ideas from the Evolutionary Psychology field. Trainees will also benefit from any spontaneous discussions that may arise from the participants.
