Pediatric Hospital Medicine: Vaccine Preventable Illnesses - Episode 5 – Pneumococcal and Haemophilus Influenza B - PHM Journal Club Podcast series

This activity reviews the microbiologic characteristics of Streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae type b and examines how these features influence clinical infection and disease progression. Learners will compare epidemiologic trends before and after vaccine introduction and differentiate the clinical presentation and management of pneumococcal and Hib infections in vaccinated versus unvaccinated individuals.
