The format of this conference will include interactive presentations from a variety of leaders within the UPMC system. The objective of this conference is to facilitate multidisciplinary
continuing education, clinical updates, and professional development for UPMC advanced practice providers and students.

Learning Objectives
Differentiate civil liability, regulatory exposure, and professional disciplinary risk as they apply to advanced practice providers across common clinical practice settings.
Identify high-risk clinical and operational scenarios that increase the likelihood of malpractice claims, regulatory investigation, or organizational liability.
Apply evidence-informed documentation practices that clearly support clinical reasoning, informed consent, communication, follow-up planning, and continuity of care.
Develop practical risk-reduction strategies for managing scope-of-practice concerns, supervision or collaboration requirements, patient complaints, adverse events, and potential litigation.

Physician Assistant (AAPA)
The University of Pittsburgh has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 4.50 AAPA Category 1 CME credit. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
