The format of this conference will include interactive presentations from a variety of leaders within the UPMC system. The objective of this conference is to facilitate multidisciplinary 
continuing education, clinical updates, and professional development for UPMC advanced practice providers and students.

Learning Objectives

Differentiate civil liability, regulatory exposure, and professional disciplinary risk as they apply to advanced practice providers across common clinical practice settings.
Identify high-risk clinical and operational scenarios that increase the likelihood of malpractice claims, regulatory investigation, or organizational liability.
Apply evidence-informed documentation practices that clearly support clinical reasoning, informed consent, communication, follow-up planning, and continuity of care.
Develop practical risk-reduction strategies for managing scope-of-practice concerns, supervision or collaboration requirements, patient complaints, adverse events, and potential litigation.
