Pittsburgh Heart Team Summit

July 1, 2021 to July 16, 2021

The Annual Pittsburgh Heart Team Summit provides tools to physicians and physician extenders, including those in surgery and cardiology, which enable collaboration in the care of patients with cardiovascular diseases.  The symposium began in August, 2015 as the UNC/ISMICS Heart Team Summit. The Summit moved to Pittsburgh in 2019 and expanded to include multidisciplinary collaboration for atrial fibrillation and pacemaker/defibrillator lead management, heart valve disease, cardiovascular imaging, coronary artery disease, venous embolism, and heart failure.

For 2020, the COVID pandemic has dramatically impacted our ability to come together. This year the Summit will virtually integrate the cultures of cardiology and cardiac surgery with regional physicians, physician extenders and providers.  Barriers such as facility limitations and communication difficulties will be addressed during this seminar. Evidence-based recommendations and treatment guidelines will direct the educational presentations and provide attendees with key learning objectives for related application in their practices.
