Robotic-Assisted Mitral Valve Repair

In this presentation, Johannes Bonatti, MD, FETCS, describes the benefits of utilizing robotic-assisted surgery when performing a mitral valve repair.

Target Audience

This course is intended for primary care physicians, hospitalists, general medicine internists, family practitioners, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other allied health professionals.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the utility of including robotic-assisted surgery at home institutions, weighing patient benefits and equipment requirements
  • Identify which patients qualify for robotic-assisted surgery and which patients do not based on comorbidities and other factors
  • Identify different medical conditions that qualify for robotic-assisted surgery
  • Develop a training plan for robotic-assisted training
