The purpose of this training is to explore weight bias and stigma in healthcare and impacts for members and patients

Aisling McIntyre graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2013 with a master’s degree in Latin American History and Women Studies. Aisling began working as a social worker in 2013, first as a education coordinator through Americorps and later as a case supervisor at a girls residential group home. Aisling completed a Masters in Social Work in 2017 at University of Pennsylvania. Since graduating, Aisling has worked as housing director, overseeing the opening of a family emergency shelter and working closely as an intensive case manager to unhoused transition age youth, a clinical social worker at UPMC Presbyterian and Montefiore in both inpatient and emergency department settings, and currently works as a program manager for the Center for High Value Health Care and Center for Social Impact. Aisling is also adjunct professor at University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work.
CCM CE will be provided: 1 CE - CCM COA will be sent via email from UPMC Health Plan nurse planner approximately 6-8 weeks following the live date of the course.
This activity is eligible for endorsed credit for UPMC Health Plan EMTs and Paramedics. Complete ETHOS course work, obtain the attendance certificate, and submit to EMS governing body for 1 CE credit(s).
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, University of Pittsburgh is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. University of Pittsburgh maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 1 continuing education credits.
