Dr. Renzelli is deeply passionate about improving the systems which impact some of society’s most vulnerable populations, she has spent 28 years working in the research and treatment of substance use disorders. Prior to joining the Health Plan, she spent nearly a decade as a co-investigator in a federally-funded research center on adolescents and alcohol use disorders, followed by serving as a member of the executive leadership team of one of Pennsylvania’s best known treatment organizations. Dr. Renzelli’s professional interests include the implementation of modern harm reduction tactics into legacy treatment approaches, addressing healthcare disparities in difficult to reach populations, and the broad categories of organizational change management and strategy. She holds a master's degree in Counselor Education from Duquesne University, and an MSW and PhD from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Social Work. Most recently, Dr. Renzelli earned her MBA from the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
Cami has spent over a decade building clinical expertise in substance use disorders and mental health. During her five years with the Health Plan, she has collaborated with medical health management in implementing strategies to better connect behavioral health and physical health coaching programs through data-driven approaches to discharge monitoring and care coordination. Her current areas of focus within the Behavioral Integration department are substance use disorders, anxiety, and depression for our members with new or existing medical needs and behavioral health pain management. Prior to joining the health plan, she worked as a community health nurse on a Forensic Assertive treatment team and worked with the local community to improve health outcomes for those with severe mental illness (SMI). Cami has trained residents at a local family practice on the importance of addressing the whole person, including basic physical health screenings; interventions specific to the SMI population; and insights into the needs of those with mental illness to facilitate appropriate and compassionate care. Additionally, she has worked directly with patients within multiple levels of care for the treatment of substance use disorders and behavioral health needs. She is a 2011 graduate of the Community College of Beaver County with an Associate Degree in Applied Science of Nursing and she holds a license as a registered nurse.
