10th Annual Comprehensive Wound Care Symposium: Multidisciplinary Perspectives & New Innovations
*This meeting will be held in person as well as an option for virtual attendance.
This conference is designed to provide state-of-the-art information and best practice guidelines in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. Both medical and surgical management strategies to optimize wound healing will be addressed.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
We will be accepting poster abstracts from April 10th through September 15th on research and case studies as they relate to wound care. If selected, you will have the opportunity to present your poster. It will be displayed throughout the designated viewing areas during the conference, and abstracts will be published in the conference program. Prizes and certificates will be awarded to the highest-rated poster in each category.

Target Audience
This course is intended for physicians, nurses, physical therapists, podiatrists, dieticians, advanced practice providers, and all clinicians involved in wound healing or wound care issues. Course material will benefit both novice and experienced clinicians.
Learning Objectives
The goal of this symposium is to provide a comprehensive overview on the treatment of wound care-related issues and innovations in the field. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Understand strategies to manage A1C and optimize wound healing
• Increase knowledge of alternative managements for lower extremity edema
• Examine the care of the wound patient with chronic renal disease
• Increase awareness of pressure injury prevention across care continuums
• Recognize crucial elements of care management
• Gain knowledge about wound care and innovations in the home

• Understand current management of the Diabetic Foot Ulcer
• Evaluate offloading strategies for foot wounds
• Grasp knowledge of how reflux plays a role in the management of venous ulcers
• Discover the interventions to increase blood flow for treatment in arterial ulcers
• Discuss the obstacles for treatment of lymphedema
• Understand the unique physiology and comprehensive care need of a geriatric patient
with wounds
• Realize the process of clinicopathologic correlation of the leg ulcers from the
dermatologist perspective
• Define the proper assessment and management of burns that present to the wound clinic
• Conceptualize the outlook of wound care science
• Analyze current smart technologies and their role in chronic wound care
• Review surgical options for limb salvage
• Examine the management of a colonized wound
• Correlate diagnosis and treatment of wound infections
• Investigate what is antimicrobial stewardship and why all wound care professionals
should care
• Assess principles of good antibiotic prescription

Cancellation
