Overview
This training is designed to inform PCPs and nurses on how to identify a Xylazine associated wound and how to properly treat, as they are often not infected.
Target Audience
This course is designed for health care professionals including physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Discuss antimicrobial stewardship program adaptations for people who inject drugs.
- Identify outpatient antimicrobial treatment considerations for xylazine-associated wounds.
- Review pharmacology and treatment of xylazine toxicity and withdrawal.
