This self-paced education builds on current knowledge and critical thinking related to assessment, interpretation, intervention, and evaluation of fetal heart monitoring in the setting of umbilical cord prolapse.
Target Audience
This training is developed for nurses and other health care professionals as appropriate.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Assess and interpret fetal heart monitoring data, including uterine activity, utilizing NICHD terminology
- Accurately interpret the fetal heart rate tracing
- Identify the priority physiologic goals and interventions based on fetal heart monitoring data
- Demonstrate effective interprofessional communication using standardized terminology and clear escalation to support timely clinical decision-making based on fetal heart monitoring findings.
