Systemwide Annual Mandatory Training for UPMC Physicians (CME) and Advanced Practice Providers (AAPA) Bundle 2026-27

Physicians and Allied Health Practitioners with clinical privileges at a UPMC facility are required to complete mandatory online education modules.

Target Audience

Physicians and Advance Practive Providers not employed directly by UPMC.

Note: This course is designed for physicians that DO NOT have access to the Learning App on UPMC HR Direct, which is accessible via the UPMC Infonet. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explain key principles of infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, and exposure prevention.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to reduce infection, exposure, and device-related safety risks.
  • Recognize compliance risks and reporting responsibilities related to fraud, waste, abuse, and workplace conduct.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, safety threats, and critical incidents using organizational protocols.
  • Apply EMTALA requirements and organizational policies when managing patients seeking emergency care.
  • Safeguard patient, organizational, and electronic information by following privacy and security standards.
  • Describe the principles of patient safety, teamwork, and community trust that support high-quality care.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment through appropriate communication, reporting, and professional conduct.
