Treating Hepatitis C in Substance Use Disorder Treatment Settings

This educational activity examines the burden of hepatitis C virus (HCV) among individuals with risky substance use and explores the impact of the opioid epidemic on HCV transmission. Participants will learn the critical role of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment settings in HCV screening, testing, linkage to care, and elimination efforts, while implementing practical HCV testing and pre-treatment workflows to improve timely access to curative care and patient outcomes.

Target Audience

This online activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners involved in patient care.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the disproportionate burden of HCV among people who use substances and the link to the opioid epidemic.
