6th Annual UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's Da Silva Center for Ebstein's Anomaly Symposium

June 6, 2026

The Da Silva Center for Ebstein’s Anomaly at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh will host its annual educational symposium focused on the comprehensive, multidisciplinary management of Ebstein’s anomaly. This activity will review the pathophysiology, diagnostic evaluation, timing of intervention, and evolving surgical strategies for this rare and highly variable congenital heart defect. Faculty will highlight the Cone procedure, pioneered by Dr. José Pedro Da Silva, which has become the standard surgical repair for Ebstein’s anomaly, and will discuss technical considerations, management of complex anatomic variants, and outcomes across a wide spectrum of patient presentations. Emphasis will also be placed on the importance of coordinated multidisciplinary care — including advanced imaging, perioperative management, and long-term follow-up — to optimize patient outcomes. Through expert lectures, case discussions, and shared institutional experience, this activity aims to enhance participants’ knowledge, surgical decision-making, and collaborative care strategies for patients with Ebstein’s anomaly.

Learning Objectives

This education is expected to improve clinicians’ ability to strategically plan early interventions with the Cone procedure in mind, enhance multidisciplinary coordination, and standardize long term management pathways for patients with Ebstein’s Anomaly. As a result, providers will make more informed surgical and medical decisions that preserve critical anatomical structures, optimize timing for the Cone procedure, and ultimately improve long-term repair success and patient outcomes.
