7th Annual Pittsburgh Hand Therapy Conference: When Good Treatment Goes Bad: Making Lemonade of out Lemons
This year’s conference will bring together surgeons, occupational therapists, physical therapists and students to share experiences and evidence for handling upper extremity complications and strategies to overcome them.
Learning Objectives
Participants will:
• Learn additional treatment techniques that may be utilized when standard techniques fail and then be able to implement strategies that will produce a desirable outcome for the patient.
• Develop an interdisciplinary understanding of upper extremity injuries by utilizing a team approach to know when to refer patients to another provider for additional treatment that may be out of the initial providers comfort/skill level.
• Learn effective skills to communicate with patients and other providers when desired outcomes are not initially achieved.
