UPMC HVI APP TRANSITION TO PRACTICE MODULE 9: VASCULAR DISEASE

This activity is designed to facilitate experienced providers teaching a robust curriculum across the spectrum of adult cardiology and adult cardiac surgery to all newly hired HVI APP's. 

Target Audience

This course is designed for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other health care professionals who seek improved quality of care for the patients of the HVI. 

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify patients at risk for neurovascular and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies
  • Implement care plans for patients with neurovascular and peripheral vascular disease including making appropriate referrals
  • Identify and initiate appropriate diagnostic testing for patients presenting with syncope.
