8th Annual Comprehensive Wound Care Symposium: Evidence-Based Therapies and Techniques
This conference is designed to provide state of the art information and best practice guidelines in the treatment of acute and chronic wounds. Both medical and surgical management strategies to optimize wound healing will be addressed.
Target Audience
This course is intended for physicians, nurses, physical therapists, podiatrists, advanced practice providers and all clinicians involved in wound healing or wound care issues. Course material will benefit both novice and experienced clinicians.
Learning Objectives
The goal of this symposium is to provide a comprehensive overview on the treatment of wound care-related issues and innovations in the field. Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
• Understand the impact of proper management for healing of diabetic foot ulcers
• Assess disparities in chronic wound care and limb salvage
• Describe current methods for lymphedema treatment
• Increase awareness of skin failure in patients with Covid-19
• Discuss approaches for treating hematomas and trauma wounds
• Review techniques to offload the Diabetic foot wound in a low resource environment
• Examine proper evaluation and treatment goals for venous insufficiency wounds
• Identify strategies to combat peristomal skin complications
• Recognize common pitfalls in negative pressure wound therapy application
• Understand the impact of smoking marijuana and the use of vaping on patients undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy
• Increase awareness around the process of quality improvement as it relates to the continuum of care
