ForwardCardiac Education Series: Care of the Adult Patient with Congenital Heart/Valve Disease
Self-learning worksheet to provide practice with adult congenital heart disease (anatomy/physiology/surgical repair), nursing care related to adult versus pediatric differences, and EBP related to patient care practices. Learners will complete a series of multi-step questions related to adult based care (medication management, assessment, ACHD, etc.) and submit answers in a test format to receive credit for participation. Additionally, education in presentation form will be provided to staff. Upon completion of the 4-5 page worksheet, staff will have to look up policy/Lippincott guidance and use resources on the unit for completion of activity. Staff have the ability to work with the educator to have the opportunity to ask questions and develop skills. Nurses will submit answers via Microsoft Forms. Need to achieve 100% to be eligible for CEU.

After completing this course, the learner will be able to:
- identify one consideration for maintaining and implementing quality standards of care consistent with best practices in caring for the adult patient with congenital heart disease.
- identify one consideration for recovering a patient from a post-operative or post-catheterization procedure with best practices in caring for the adult patient with congenital heart disease.
- identify one consideration for managing medications in caring for the adult patient with congenital heart disease.
