Women's Health Transition to Practice Program - Course 2: Gynecology
This program will allow Advanced Practice Providers to work towards full scope of practice. In turn, the will be fully active in a healthcare team. Additionally, professional development education will be integrated within the program to promote increased functionality within a multi-disciplinary team.
Target Audience
This course is designed for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other health care professionals who seek improved quality of care for the patients.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Apply evidence-based practices to perform comprehensive health screenings, basic office procedures, and advanced examination techniques in women’s health, including gynecology, obstetrics, and subspecialties.
- Integrate patient sensitivity considerations and effective communication strategies to provide culturally competent and empathetic care tailored to diverse patient populations.
- Seamlessly transition into the Women’s Health specialty through mentorship, experiential learning opportunities, and integration of interdisciplinary collaboration into clinical practice.
- Utilize automated tools and workflows to evaluate performance, improve clinical decision-making, and support ongoing professional development within the UPMC Women’s Health Service Line.
- Employ strategies to improve patient outcomes and workforce readiness by addressing the unique clinical, operational, and developmental needs of advanced practice providers.
