Hosted by the Advanced Practice Providers Advisory Committee of UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the Pediatrics in Practice Symposium is a national conference designed specifically for Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) working in pediatrics or those with a strong interest in pediatric care. This event unites APPs from across the country for high-quality, evidence-based education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development. Attendees will explore the latest advancements in pediatric medicine, share best practices, and connect with peers and experts dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families.

Putting Safe Sleep to Bed: Educating Nurses on a Clinical Pathway and the Use of Motivational Interviewing for Safe Sleep in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Learning Objectives: Following this session the learner will be able to:

1. Describe the components of the safe sleep clinical pathway.

2. Identify the key principles of motivational interviewing and their application for safe sleep in the NICU.

3. Recognize the impact of nurse education on knowledge and self-efficacy.

Vicarious Resilience: Finding Strength Learning Objectives. Following this session the learner will be able to:

1. Define and differentiate vicarious resilience from vicarious trauma and burnout.

2. Identify the key components and processes through which vicarious resilience is developed and recognize the personal and professional benefits of cultivating vicarious resilience.

3. Apply practical strategies for actively fostering vicarious resilience in their own practice

. Advances in PKU: Current Therapies Type: Clinical & Subspeciality Practice: Advancing Evidence-Based Pediatric Care Learning Objectives. Following this session the learner will be able to:

1. Participants will have a better understanding of what PKU is

2. Participants will have a better understanding of how PKU is diagnosed

3. Participants will be introduced to the current pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies available for the treatment of PKU

Advancing Pediatric STI Care Through Expedited Partner Therapy Education Learning Objectives. Following this session the learner will be able to:

1. Define Expedited Partner Therapy

2. Recognize specific criteria for EPT (legal and clinical) and treatment

3. Discuss strategies to overcome common barriers to EPT
