Accuracy with OASIS E

CMS requires the completion of an Outcomes Assessment Information Set (OASIS) data collection tool at start of care, resumption of care, recertification, discharge and transfer for home health patients. OASIS is part of the comprehensive assessment and is used for measuring outcomes, reporting potentially avoidable events, calculating reimbursement, defining risk adjustment and tracking process measures. Clinicians in home health lack knowledge of changes that will take effect 1/1/2023 to the OASIS data set. Twenty seven new assessment items are being added. Education is needed for staff performing assessments in home health.

This activity will increase accuracy of patient assessments as specific time points. Accurate assessments impact patient interventions and outcomes.
