Drs. Diego and Balic are highlighting the importance of multidisciplinary breast cancer care. This presentation is intended to help attendees better understand the unique contributions of each discipline involved in the care of patients diagnosed with breast cancer.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to:
1. Describe the roles and responsibilities of key multidisciplinary team members involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and supportive care of patients with breast cancer, including surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology, nursing, rehabilitation, genetics, and patient navigation.
2. Apply evidence-based principles of multidisciplinary care to develop individualized treatment plans that incorporate current standards of breast cancer management.
3. Incorporate shared decision-making and patient preferences into multidisciplinary treatment planning to improve patient engagement, satisfaction, and quality of care.
4. Recognize opportunities for early integration of supportive care services, including psychosocial support, genetic counseling, rehabilitation, survivorship care, and patient navigation, to address the comprehensive needs of patients with breast cancer.
