5th Annual APP Academy: Presented by UPMC Passavant APP Council

This two-day multidisciplinary, interactive event aims to educate APPs on up-to-date treatments and best practice guidelines for a variety of topics, as well as improve interdisciplinary relationships between APPs across local hospitals in order to better serve their patients. The course will aim to enhance both clinical and procedural skills by offering a combination of didactic lectures and hands-on workshops.

Target Audience

This course is intended for physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, and nurse anesthetists clinically practicing in both inpatient and outpatient medicine.

Learning Objectives

• Expand clinical knowledge and technical skills for the most common diagnoses that result in patient hospitalization.

• Engage in professional development through networking opportunities and effective communication.

• Gain insight into both evidence-based best practices and local system’s experience with APP leadership structures and APP career growth opportunities.

• Opportunity for direct demonstration, personalized instruction, and extensive hands-on practice in fundamental skills for the APP through half-day of simulation labs.
