2024 Annual SATA Meeting DMV Region
Program Description
This SATA regional meeting is an in-person meeting designed to provide a multi-disciplinary review of the latest updates on a variety of preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative critical care management topics for abdominal and cardiothoracic transplant patients.
Target Audience
Physicians, Transplant Anesthesiologists, Intensivists, Transplant Surgeons, Residents, and Fellows
Learning Objectives
1. Discuss the implications of normothermic perfusion on organ preservation
2. Describe the benefits of robotic-assisted laparoscopy for living donor hepatectomy
3. Explain the role of veno-venous bypass in liver transplantation
4. Identify criteria for consideration of simultaneous liver-kidney transplant
5. Understand the critical care management of hypo- and hypernatremia
6. Describe considerations for the heart transplant recipient presenting with cirrhosis
7. Recognize the challenges associated with simultaneous heart-kidney transplant
8. Discuss the critical care management of post-lung transplant recipients
