Adoption 101
This program will provide care coordination and discharge planning staff with a general overview of the agency adoption experience as well as review other types of adoptions that may be encountered in the hospital setting. It will examine general characteristics of infants being adopted and provide information on families seeking adoption both locally and nationally. The birthparent experience, choices that birthparents have within a domestic adoption, and important legal issues to be considered during this process will be reviewed. Additionally, counseling , referrals , and other resources and services available at The Children's Home of Pittsburgh will be reviewed.
