Advanced Feeding Videos

December 20, 2020 to February 28, 2021

This program will prepare nurses to develop feeding skills to become feeding champions with the NICU babies. Feeding NICU babies takes time and experience, OT assist with feeding but nursing feeds around the clock - we need a core set of feeding champions to develop feeding skills for newer staff

 

Target Audience

NICU nurses

Learning Objectives

• Participants will verbalize the limitations of the hospital disposable nipples for feeding fragile infants

• Participants will identify ways to support feeding starting at birth, considering gestational age and medical status

• Participants will understand the process of the MBS and interpret results in a meaningful way

• Participants will identify appropriate feeding techniques based on clinical feeding observations
