Airway Management for Hospitalists (AMH)

A course for Hospitalists to participate in simulated cases involving the management of difficult airway situations. This course provides web-based didactics and the opportunity to practice skills associated with the care of patients in the emergency department in routine as well as difficult situations.

Course Objectives:

 

By the end of the course, the participants will be able to:

1.            Recognize a difficult airway

2.            Manage a difficult airway using the difficult airway algorithm

3.            Successfully perform the following techniques:

a.            Laryngoscopy

b.            Gum B & L Stylet

c.             Combi-tube

d.            BVM

e.            MET 1

f.             Open Crich

g.            TTJV and Percutaneous Crich

h.            Blind Nasal

i.              FT-LMA
