  • Describe the indication and usage of mesenchymal cells
  • List indications for HPCT and best explain the indications to patients and families
  • Describe hematopoetic progenitor cells sources
  • Describe advances in new therapies with dendritic cell and immune therapies
  • Define human leukocyte antigen (HLA)
  • Describe genetic inheritance of HLA and better understand HLA typing
  • Describe the process of donor identification and selection for allogenic marrow, peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC), and cord blood transplant
  • Identify specimens used for HLA typing
  • Discuss the purpose of pre-transplant evaluation for HPCT patients
  • Describe the components of a patient evaluation for potential HPCT to patient and families
  • Describe the HPC donor evaluation process
  • Identify safety issues in pediatric apheresis and when to involve the professional practice team for additional support
  • Identify potential barriers to HPCT
