Please join us for a live, continuing medical education (CME)-accredited webinar on cancer documentation and ICD-10-CM coding.
 
During this presentation, we will provide a comprehensive overview of official documentation and coding guidelines needed for proper cancer reporting, focusing on:
 
  • “History of” documentation.
  • Definitions of active disease/treatment versus monitoring for recurrence.
  • Solid tumors, lymphoma, and leukemia.
  • Primary versus secondary (metastatic).
  • Documentation examples for proper ICD-10-CM code assignment.
 
Attendees registered as a certified coder will receive an additional post-webinar email from [email protected] with the AAPC Certificate. Coders do not need to register on this website.
 
This activity has been designated as and meets the Pennsylvania licensure requirement for Patient Safety-Risk Management Credit. It is the responsibility of the learner to maintain the educational presentation or conference agenda as evidence, if needed for audit purposes.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
 
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of official documentation and coding guidelines for proper ICD-10-CM cancer code reporting, based on the criteria of active treatment/active disease versus monitoring for recurrence.
  • Build skills of best practice documentation for solid tumors (primary and metastatic), lymphoma, and leukemia.
  • Improve upon determining whether an active cancer code or a “history of” cancer code should be reported, based on provider documentation examples.
