Chasing Change Talk

This Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills building will support staff in their ability to chase change talk in their clinical interactions. This course will specifically support staff in identifying, evoking, and strategically responding to change talk. Through interactive discussion and practice, staff will leave the session with necessary skills to impact change. 

SPECIAL NOTE:
There is no educational content to this course. This course is designed to supplement training that has already occurred. This course is designed to only administer the post-test and collect CME evaluations.

Target Audience

Nurses, Social Workers, Health Coaches, Registered Dieticians, and Paramedics / EMTs

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
 
  • Recall Motivational Interviewing elements along with worst- & best-case scenario in health coaching.
  • Recall different types of client talk, types of change talk, and how to strategically respond to change talk.
  • Apply MI skills by identifying and cultivating responses to both sustain and change talk.
