Considerations for Antibiotics and Vaccines in Pregnancy and Lactation

This activity will provide pharmacists with the baseline knowledge of which antimicrobials are safe during pregnancy, which ones are recommended, and which ones may be teratogenic. It also will provide the audience with pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic considerations for any medication in pregnancy and lactation to give a basis for which to make recommendations in the future. This activity will also provide pharmacists with guideline recommended vaccines for pregnant and lactating individuals. All of the above information will allow the pharmacist to educate providers, nursing, and patients in future encounters.
