Enhancing Teaching Skills for Medical Educators (Online): An Approach to a Holistic Review Process for Residency Interviewing: The Perspective of Two Residency Training Programs

“An Approach to a Holistic Review Process for Residency Interviewing: The Perspective of Two Residency Training Programs” is a learning module created for medical educators as part of the “Enhancing Teaching Skills Lunchtime Webinar Series.”  The goal of this series is to enhance core teaching and scholarship skills for medical educators of both medical students and residents throughout the UPMC system.  The webinar series occurs live through Microsoft Teams from 12:00-1:00PM every other month during the academic year. Medical educators of both medical students and residents.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Define key concepts related to holistic application review
  • Utilize residency program mission-driven values to determine individualized essential and non-essential application components
  • Identify where in your program’s application process holistic review can be incorporated
