This simulation-based educational program is designed for training professional nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare providers in the early recognition and treatment of emergently ill patients prior to code team arrival.

Target Audience

This course is open to nursing assistants/patient care technicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, advanced practice providers, and physicians.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify standardized behaviors for primary responders in a crisis situation
  • Decrease time from patient discovery and identification of a life-threatening arrhythmia to defibrillation
  • Identify appropriate equipment and proper utilization required for crisis situations
