The learner will be able to:
Assess and manage interventions for patients experiencing oncologic emergencies.
Recognize the appropriate diagnostic testing and procedures needed for timely treatment of oncologic emergencies.
Recall signs, symptoms of infections and interventions to prevent infection within oncology patients.
Compare and contrast the differences between palliative care and hospice care.
Prioritize appropriate interventions for patient and caregiver education to minimize risks associated with oncologic emergencies.

In support of improving patient care, the University of Pittsburgh is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
