Target Audience
This course addresses the needs of registered nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, social workers, and other members of the healthcare team who care for oncology patients in the acute care, outpatient, extended care, rehabilitation, and home care settings. Nurses and other healthcare professionals involved in cancer care, or those who wish to expand their knowledge of cancer care, are also welcome to attend..
Learning Objectives
At the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Explain resources that are available from the American Cancer Society.
- Identify risk factors that may lead to the development of solid tumors.
- Recall screening guidelines for solid tumors.
- Explain the diagnostic work up for solid tumors.
- Recognize treatment options and supportive care measures to utilize for patients who have solid tumors.
- Demonstrate learning has occurred by receiving at least an 85% on final quiz.
